　　Be a model diplomat

　　THESE students in beautiful Bangladeshi (孟加拉国的) costumes above are from Zhengzhou Foreign Language School. The Peking University Model United Nations Conference for High School Students was held from March 19 to 22. During the conference, they acted as ambassadors of Bangladesh, expressing opinions and spreading the country’s culture.

　　To prepare for the conference, the students spent days and nights doing research on the Internet to understand the country, including its geography, food, music, language and cultural heritage (遗产). During the Spring Festival, they even talked to a Bangladeshi officer when he was on a trip to Zhengzhou. "The more I’ve learned about the country, the more I love it and dream of traveling there one day in the future," said Zhang Xiaoxu, 17.

　　This year, around 570 students from 77 top high schools from across the country attended the model UN conference to demonstrate their speech craft (技巧), critical thinking skills and their deep insight into major global issues, such as food supply, climate change and peace and security.
