Honorable judges, fellow students:
Good afternoon!
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. the college students arethe beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education atextraordinary places. but will we be able to face the challenge and supportourselves against all odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? willwe be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of ourcountry?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, whichwould cringe at the slightest discomfort. but the cynics are wrong. the collegestudents i see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. we helpeach other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take parttime jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect theneed for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeplyfor each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. lastweek, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order tomake a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point inour lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each willprofoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe inall my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a littlebit childish. i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challengeand take on our responsibilities. we are preparing to assume newresponsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to makeour world a better place. i believe in our future.

We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.
Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment.
The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can’t break down by nature. This is really a big problem.

Are you still obsessed with a bunch of pop stars in entertainment industry ?SinceFuyuanhui told CCTV reporter. "Ive been utilizing prehistorical powers." Are you still believe in the traditional sports concept that "winner-takes-all" or "victory only belongs to the winners"? When Sunyang didn’t won the champion of 1500-meter freestyle swimming match, but stick to the last minutes enduring the pain of physical sickness, are you still accusing him of not winning honor for our country? Of course, no!
Because of the nationwide sports system in our country, we always attach great importance to the glory of the most high-necked award platform, requiring athletes to win the game. I still remember that in 2008, Liu Xiang dropped out because of the serious injury in his Achilless tendon, but he grit his teeth and stick to the end, bearing all the pain and pressure we may never know. However, someone mock him that he is no longer the Asian flier anymore, some even said that his injury was just put on a show, suddenly he turned from a national hero into a loser, just because he upset the whole country of not winning one game.
From "medal only" to enjoy the charm and joy of the competitive sports, from requiring athletes to win the game to sincerely admire the noble-character and charming personality of them. This maybe one small step for 2016 Rio Olympic, but one giant leap for the Chinese national sport spirit. Who can say this is not the mistery of sport? who can say this is not the power of sport? And who can say this is not the charm of sport?

We all know that Chinese, as a nation has a long history about 5000 years, and we feel very proud of our brilliant and splendid culture. Owing to that, my father always told me: “you would suffer loss if you don’t follow old people’s words.” Besides I was taught everyday to learn Peking Opera. If some boy who is about 16 years old sings Peking Opera in the classroom now, I’m afraid he will be laughed at. JAY’s “Qian Li Zhi Wai ”seems more popular to you.
So we may wonder does our tradition get out of the modern lifeAbsolutely not. What we need is just a peace of innovation. Here is a question:What is innovationInnovation was an ancient dream flying into the outer space; innovation today, is the amazing convenience and intelligence that a single mobile phone in your pocket could bring to you.
There is no more then a battle between tradition and innovation, which is the rain and water relationship, not only tradition like fish without water, again good innovation will also become the castles in the air, there wont be lasting vitality. Only both of them are perfectly together will bear fruits of success as well.
With the economic globalization becoming increasingly intensive, innovation has become one of central topics around the world. Many countries see it as the key to develop their economy. Our government, with no exception, regard it as " the soul of our nation." Based on advanced function system and excellent management, factories are booming and enhance overall national economy. Highly development of electronic commerce is also a significant factor for improving our living standards. The enlargement of our authority to the recruit of graduate and improvement of the conditions of scientists and skilled workers ......
From all above, innovation has already became a kind of habit. There is no doubt we would surprise the world by creating more and more amazing innovations taking advantages of not only our intelligence but innovation. I’m sure innovation has became one of the symbols in Chinese tradition and will be mark of our bright future!

But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...
I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different countries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can go to London,because it is the birth place of English.
