寒假英语日记篇一
There is a winter afternoon, the day slowly becomes dark, grey clouds filled the sky. In a short time, pieces of little snowflake gliding slowly drifting down, as if to feel, and as if from a distance. Gradually, snowflakes bold enough to get up, see not, warren, pushing and shoving, side by side, holding hands, like market, surges. What a big snow! Like cotton, more like a goose feather. They are like a group of a group of sisters in the play, talking and laughing, when you do not pay attention to, secretly over your shoulder, when you erase this naughty snow, they have mysteriously disappeared... After a while, trees and buildings are put on the silver, the white world! I was walking by the road, I looked at the white world, day is white, it is white, I like became a fluttering snowflakes in the sky. Because we don't need to do any homework during this time very year.It's really a precious holiday for us. And our parents are free from their work too. Waking up on New Year, everybody dresses up. First they extend greetings to their parents. Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped up in red paper. People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, as they think "jiaozi" in sound means "bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new". Also, the shape of the dumpling is like gold ingot from ancient China. So people eat them and wish for money and treasure.
Southern Chinese eat niangao (New Year cake made of glutinous rice flour) on this occasion, because as a homophone, niangao means "higher and higher, one year after another." The first five days after the Spring Festival are a good time for relatives, friends, and classmates as well as colleagues to exchange greetings, gifts and chat leisurely.
China has 56 ethnic groups. Minorities celebrate their Spring Festival almost the same day as the Han people, and they have different customs.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China .It’s to celebrate the lunar calendar ‘s new year .In the evening before the Spring Festival ,families get together and have a big meal .In many places people like to set off firecrackers .Dumplings are the most traditional food .Children like the festival very much ,because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes .They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck . People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune .
The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long .People visit relatives and friends with the words “Have all your wishes ”. People enjoy the Spring Festival ,during this time they can have a good rest .

The Spring Festival is a traditional festival in our country, our children will give adults happy New Year, every day my mother give me put on new clothes, buy the things I like, grandpa and grandma will give me money, families are antithetical couplet.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, the whole family gathered together to make dumplings, watch the Spring Festival gala and eat rice cakes.
On the evening of the fifteenth night, every family set off firecrackers. There are butterflies, flowers, little red lanterns and fountains. How beautiful it is!
We young children like to choose lanterns most, the kinds of lanterns have many kinds, have glass lamp, horn lamp. There are lights in the house, palace lanterns, paper lights, screen lights, ice lanterns, lantern.
The lantern was shining like a shining stone.
I like Spring Festival.
