高中英语情态动词语法知识点整理

　　shall

　　A. Shall I /we ... ? (making offers, suggestions or asking for advice)

　　　a. What shall we do this weekend? 周末我们做什么?(征求建议)

　　　b. Let's look at it again, shall we? 我们再研究研究，好不好?(提出建议)

　　　c. Shall I spell the word for you? 要我将这个词拼出来吗? (offer)

　　B. You /He shall ... ( indicating a promise, or a must by rules or law)

　　　a. No one shall leave their seat before the bus comes to a complete stop. 车未停稳，任何人不得离开座位。(规则)

　　　b. You shall have my car if you promise not to drink before driving. 你答应开车不喝酒，车可以借给你。(允诺)

　　won't /wouldn't (表示机械、系统等“功能失常”)

　　a. It was cold and the car wouldn't start. 天寒地冻，车发动不了。

　　　But: I couldn't start the car.

　　b. No matter how I try, the door just won't open. 怎么试，门就是开不开。

　　　But: I just can't open the door.

　　will /would(表意愿)

　　My mother won't allow me out late at night. 妈妈不允许我太晚出门。

　　would (表“过去习惯”)

　　When alone, she would sit for hours, lost in thought. 一个人的时候，她往往一坐几个小时，冥思苦想。

　　此外，may well常表“推断”，may as well则表“建议”:

　　　a. It may well blow up a storm tonight. 今晚很可能起风暴。

　　　b. There is nothing to do yet for the moment. You may as well have a good sleep tonight. 暂时还没有什么事。你今晚可以好好睡一觉。
