Going to a Rock Concert去摇滚音乐会
Mike always listened to the radio on his way to work. His favorite radio station often gave away free concert tickets to their listeners. In order to win callers had to call at a certain time whenever they played a certain song. Mike always tried to win tickets to go see a concert but he unfortunately never called at the right time. Although he didn't win, Mike never stopped trying to call in to win. One morning, his luck was about to change.
工作时，迈克总是按照老样子听着无线广播，他最喜欢的电台经常给听众免费音乐会门票。为了赢得门票，打电话的人必须在一定时间内猜出一首特定的歌。迈克总是想赢得门票去看演唱会，但他不幸的是从来都没在时间范围内猜对过。虽然他没有赢，但迈克从未放弃过。一天早晨，他的好运来了。
The radio station was giving away free concert tickets to go see Mike's favorite rock group, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. All Mike had to do to win the tickets was being the third caller when the radio station played a certain song by the rock group. Mike had heard the announcement that morning on his way to work, and had his hands-free cell phone ready to make the call when the right song played.
电台免费赠送的演唱会门票是迈克最喜欢的摇滚乐队，汤姆·佩蒂和撕心裂肺。作为第三个来电者迈克赢得了这张门票，是因为当时广播电台播放的是摇滚乐队的某首歌。迈克已经听到的消息，他在早晨上班的路上，打了这通电话，赢到了这张电话。
Mike listened intently to the radio, waiting for the song "American Girl" to play. Suddenly, as he was waiting for a red light, the song American Girl started to play over the radio. He knew he had to be the third caller so he did not call the station right away. After thirty seconds he made the call and hoped to be the winner.
迈克专注地听着收音机，等待着歌曲“美国女孩”的播放。突然，当他在等待红灯时，一个女孩开始播放收音机。他知道他必须是第三个打电话的人，所以他没有马上打电话给电台。三十秒后，他打了电话，希望成为冠军。
"Congratulations, you have won free concert tickets to go see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers this Friday night," a voice said to Mike over the phone. Mike could not believe that he had finally won. The concert tickets arrived to the apartment by mail in a week. Mike was so excited when he opened the envelope the tickets came in. He decided to surprise Maria that same day he received the tickets.
“恭喜你，你已经获得了星期五晚上免费的演唱会门票去看汤姆·佩蒂和撕心裂肺的。”电话里一个声音对迈克说。迈克不敢相信他终于赢了。一周后，音乐会门票就送到了他的公寓。麦克是如此的激动，当他打开信封的时候，他决定在那天给玛利亚一个惊喜。
